Frequently Asked Questions for Vendors

What is .com?
WeddIngcentives.com is a wedding and other event planning website that lists vendors (photographers, videographers, bands, DJs, etc) who promise to give a percentage of their service fee back to the customer in the form of a gift card, gift certificate, or credit to the company that referred the customer to the .com in the first place.

How does it work?

The bride or event planner picks up a WI card from a display located in any retail store (think large coffee, electronics, food, and movie theatre chains, even small delis and restaurants, and many more). The card she picks up has a code, unique to that specific location, that she must enter into the site in order to use it to find vendors. Upon registering, she receives her own customer code. Once she finds a vendor she would like to book with, she presents her customer code to that vendor, and that vendor then buys her a gift card, through WeddIngcentives.com, back to the retailer who introduced her to our site.

What do I have to do as a vendor?
All you have to do is sign yourself up, get your listing approved, and wait for brides to start calling you. Once a bride books with you and pays your full package price, you take her customer code, log in to the website, and submit a percentage of your sale. We, behind the scenes, will make sure that the bride receives her gift card or credit to the retailer she picked up the card from.

Can a bride choose to receive her gift card(s) to any other stores than the one that introduced her to WeddIngcentives.com?
Yes, although she needs to receive at least $150 back to the original retailer who introduced her to this system. It's only fair! She may opt to receive the additional rebates she earns in credits to a wide variety of other major retail stores, or even non-profit organizations they wish to donate to.

Am I giving the customer my best price and then giving another percentage back?
NO! Anyone using this site knows that the rebate you are giving them is to be taken off your regular, retail prices. No "double dipping" allowed! For a customer to ask for that would be going against the site terms of use and simply asking for too much.

How much of a percentage do I have to give back to the customer?
That's up to you, but keep in mind that the more you give, the more a bride will likely call you compared to another company that is not offering as much. We are assuming that most vendors will give 10%, since that is a very common finder's fee in the wedding industry.

Where are the displays going to be located?
It is our intention to flood your area with displays. We are in talks with major retail chains that have many locations to have displays located in their stores, as well as smaller, independent retailers, like cafes, restaurants, and even car wahses!

How does a Vendor actually buy the gift card or certificate for the bride?
It's very simple. When you book with a bride AT FULL PRICE and receive a payment, you ask her for her customer code. This code comes to her by email when she signs up. You then log in to the site, click the button marked "Buy Gift Card", and enter her code and the amount you are giving her back.

Do I have to give the whole rebate if the bride has only paid a deposit?
Not if you don't want to, but you must rebate them at least the amount proportionate to what they pay along the way. For example, if the amount you are rebating is 10%, your contract with the client is for $2000, and they pay a $1000 deposit, the minimum you have to give them at this time is $100. If the second payment is for $500, then

Can I suggest a busy location that a display might be good for?
Yes. Once you create an account and log in, one of the actions you may take is to suggest locations near you where you would like to have a display located - it benefits you!!! We're also coming up with an incentive plan for that, where you receive a small discount on your membership for getting a display set up yourself.

Will I receive leads from the site?
Yes, and at the moment, those leads will be free. We want you to see that the site is working at first, and will send you the names of everyone in your area who is using the site. Later on you will only receive leads for the people who checked off that they need your service category

How does the bride claim the gift card or certificate from the merchant?
Once a sale is made and you submit the payment for the rebate through =================.com, we will send the payment to the retailer on behalf of the bride. She will either have to go to the retailer to claim her credit, or in the cases of major retailers, we will mail her a gift card.

Can I just give the customer a discount instead of charging full price?

Absolutely not! and for the following reasons:

1) It deincentivizes the Display Holder. Think about it - if you were the store displaying the WI display and no money ever came back to you from its presence in your store, then you would throw it out! This hurts YOU, and every other member of WI.

2) That's stealing, and therefore wrong. The customer you received came to you from the efforts of someone else, someone who was promised compensation for referring that customer to you. For you to keep the money that they were promised, or to give it to the customer in the form of a discount, is tantamount to stealing.

3) Because of the above, it is against the rules of the site. Any company discovered to be doing so will be subject to removal from our system.

Can credits the bride receives be used to purchase other services she need for her wedding?
Yes. The bride can specify that the rebated funds she receives go into a special account that can be used to make payments to other vendors she needs for her wedding, just like cash. The good news for her is that if she uses the rebates she earns to pay for the services of other vendors on WI, she will receive a rebate on top of a rebate!

Can a Vendor be a Display Holder too?
Yes, and we even recommend doing so. You can say to a potential customer that if they book with you and use -------------------.com, the other purchases they make will result in a credit to their account with you!

Will you be selling banner ads?
Banners will be placed on each category listing page.  They are currently being offered at $35 per month when paid in full for the year.

Do we get anything if I help you sign up other vendors?
Absolutely!  You will receive credits to your next year's membership for every vendor you help sign up, and a smaller percentage of any vendors that they sign up, as long as you are an active advertiser!

How do I sign up?
Click here, and then select 'Sell My Wedding Services' when registering.  Then submit a 766 x 170 pixel JPEG image and a 50 word description of your business.  Within a day or two your ad will appear in your service category(ies) as long as your ad is approved!  We can help you create your ad image at no charge.
